Singapore (28 July 2026) – Sun Life today announces the launch of Sun Life Private Wealth, an integrated platform supporting high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, families and advisers as they build, preserve and transfer wealth across generations.
The launch reflects Sun Life’s long-term commitment to the HNW and UHNW segment, bringing its global strength, specialist expertise and multi-market capabilities into one integrated platform.
Sun Life has been a pioneer in HNW insurance since establishing its dedicated HNW operations in Bermuda in 1996, the first life insurer to do so. Over 30 years, Sun Life has built HNW businesses across Bermuda, Hong Kong and Singapore and earned trust across generations.
“The launch of Sun Life Private Wealth marks the evolution of our HNW business, bringing together decades of expertise into one integrated platform. As wealth becomes more global and family needs more complex, clients and advisers need a trusted partner that can support them across the wealth life cycle. Sun Life Private Wealth combines our financial strength, specialist expertise and deep local knowledge to help clients build, preserve and transfer wealth across generations,” said Sujoy Ghosh, CEO, Sun Life Private Wealth.
The launch comes as private wealth continues to grow across global markets, with Asia Pacific playing an increasingly important role. Global HNW Individual (HNWI) wealth rose 8.7% to USD98.3 trillion in 20251, with Asia Pacific recording the highest regional growth at 10.5%. Cross-border wealth also rose 8.4% globally in 2025 to US$15.7 trillion.2
Today’s HNW clients in Asia are financially sophisticated, global in outlook and often have assets, businesses and family members spread across markets. Their planning needs can span protection in one market, accumulation and legacy planning in another, and wider considerations across asset classes.
Sun Life’s 2025 legacy planning research found that 67% of HNW respondents in Singapore and 44% of HNW respondents in Hong Kong are concerned their wealth may not be preserved beyond their children’s generation. The research also found that 89% of respondents in Singapore and 91% in Hong Kong have either previously sought professional advice for legacy planning or would like to do so in future.
“As the needs of wealthy clients become increasingly international and interconnected, we recognised the need to evolve the way we serve them. Over the past 18 months, we have brought our capabilities closer together through a single intake and underwriting platform, harmonised processes and forms, and round-the-clock support. The result is a more connected global business that delivers a more seamless experience for distribution partners and their clients, with the complexity of navigating markets resting with us, not them,” added Sujoy.
With more than 160 years of global experience, 133 years in Asia, a pioneering role in HNW insurance and an AA S&P financial strength rating3 that is among the strongest in global life insurance companies, Sun Life Private Wealth reflects Sun Life’s presence in Bermuda, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore, which are key wealth hubs around the world.
